Basically, the goal is to rock the world — yes, the entire planet — with the message of Jesus Christ (see Matthew 28:19-20). But we realize that every church that has a passion for reaching God’s lost kids needs to be on board.  There is too much to do for one person or church to do it alone. It’s time to link arms.

A church that is part of this global uprising is unmistakable. The marks of a loving culture of redemption shine out brought for the world to see. This is our hope and goal for every church that joins The Uprising:

*We will embrace people. We will seek out the forgotten, the jaded, the homophobic, the hateful. Jesus loves all. An Uprising is fueled by reckless love.

*We go to dangerous people in dangerous places. Jesus was murdered because He forgave with audacious grace. The establishment was afraid of Him. We need to do what must be done – not what “has always been done.”

*We are revolutionary. In light of all of this, we must be change-hungry. If the disbelieving world will be reached, we must say goodbye to what pastors want to hear. The days of being sweet and nice have to end.

*We are unapologetic with the message of Christ’s love. We will love and serve with reckless abandon. We will be devoted to those on the outside of the church. There will not be an ounce of apology in our voices. We will be the Bride of Christ, and we will not say, “Sorry” along the way.

*We will be irresistible. People don’t know what to do or how to make sense of an irresistible force.

In such a time of darkness as this, are you willing to go to battle, to war for the souls and hearts of men? Are you willing to put aside your fears – fears that you will be rejected, fears that you will be ridiculed, fears that you will be ostracized, fears that you will be seen as off-balance in a society that so tightly clings to political correctness?

If the answer is yes, you are needed.

Irresistible.

When you hear that word, what do you see?

For us at Quest Community Church, we imagine a bride, beautiful and shining brightly on her wedding day. Do you have that image in your mind?

Guess what. You – who are part of the Bride of Christ – are called to be irresistible to the world. But how does the world see us? Do they see the gorgeousness that draws them to Jesus? Or do they allow fear to keep them far from our doors to the wedding celebration? And if so, what exactly does that fear look like?

Consider this:

1)      In the United States alone, nearly 4,000 churches close annually. That’s eight per day.

2)      In response to those statistics, many new churches start up. BUT, 90 percent of them will die before their third anniversary.

3)       85 percent of the half-million churches in the United States are dying.

4)      Since 1993, the number of Americans not attending church has doubled.

5)      40 percent of Americans say they go to church, but in fact only 17.7 percent go regularly.

6)      Of those 17.7 percent, 95 percent of them will not share the truth of Christ with others during their lifetimes.

Now take a look at some more sad facts:

7)       33,000 Americans successfully take their lives annually.

8)      850,000 abortions take place annually.

9)       There are 1 million divorces, 1 million bankruptcies, 27 million addictions and 300,000 teens trapped in the sex trafficking industry — in the Unites States ALONE – annually.

If we are to become that irresistible Bride, we must drive back all of that fear with love. And it’s going to take an ARMY of people whose lives have been transformed by the only Person who can do that. When the world sees the Bride as she is intended to be seen, they will say, “We didn’t know! We didn’t know that church could be this way! We didn’t know Jesus loved us like this!”

And so this is the reason we at Quest Community Church have announced a very special event for you, your pastors and leaders in your church with a burning desire to reach the world: THE UPRISING on April 15, in Lexington, Kentucky.
